More Than One Ways to Win
There are so many ways to win in poker which is why it is one of the more competitive games of skill. You can win by all other players folding, bluffing and betting, or a show down. With all of these ways to win, it is difficult to simply play the game with the cards, which is why the very best pros make a lot of money playing poker on tours. They have mastered the various ways to win and can do so consistently night in and night out, which is why they are the pros.
If in case you are playing poker and want to know which cards to prioritize, here is the priority order in terms of how you should value your cards.
Before the flop you are only dealt two cards. While instinctively, many casual players will nearly auto call to see the flop, disciplined poker means playing smart. You don’t need to see every flop, and should only call when you have a hand that is strong enough to win the pot. The hands you should definitely play are high valued pocket pairs or AK. These are pretty much the best hands you can start with. AQ, AJ, or A10 are also acceptable, especially when suited. After these, two face cards like KQ or KJ are okay to play. All other hands are riskier therefore other factors must be considered to play those hands.
If you are able to create a five-card hand with your cards, your chances of winning in poker are significantly higher. If you are able to do this, especially on the turn or flop, consider value betting early to earn the most money possible from your cards.
A straight is the weakest and easiest 5-card hand you can chase. Stronger than a straight is a flush, then a full-house, then four of a kind, straight flush, and royal flush.
If you have any of these, remember the poker priority order. May you play well and win, good luck.
