An Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and 10 – all in the same suit.
A♥, K♥, Q♥, J♥, 10♥
Any five cards in consecutive order – all in the same suit.
7♣, 6♣, 5♣, 4♣, 3♣
Four of a Kind
Four cards of the same rank, regardless of the suit.
8♣, 8♥, 8♥, 8♦, 2♠
Three of a kind partnered with a pair, regardless of the suit.
7♠, 7♥, 7♣, 2♣, 2♠
Any five cards of the same suit, but not in sequence (otherwise, the hand is counted as a straight flush).
9♦, 3♦, Q♦, 6♦, J♦
Any five cards in sequence, but not in the same suit (otherwise, the hand is also counted as a straight flush).
J♠, 10♠, 9♥, 8♣, 7♥
Three of a kind
Three cards of the same rank, wherein the remaining two cards in the hand are not a pair (otherwise, the hand is counted as a full house).
8♥, 8♦, 8♠, 3♠, A♥
Two sets of different pairs.
Q♣, Q♦, 7♠, 7♦, K♠
One set of two cards with the same rank.
4♠, 4♥, 10♠, J♠, A♦
When you can’t form any of the preceding hands, you play the single highest card in your hand. In the example below, the highest card is Queen.
